Good PR move by Boone Pickens. This is a social site for people to dis­cuss local and global solu­tions for renew­able energy.  I really wish wind energy would pick up even more! With the huge dis­cus­sion about cars and oil, what we should realize is that is only 1 use of energy. Our homes and our places of work need power too, and wind power can be a great solu­tion — can anyone say free? According to Picken’s Plan, the United States is like the Saudi Arabia of wind power.  Why don’t we cap­i­talize on that and ditch the huge debate on for­eign oil.  With the intro­duc­tion of the Chevy Volt com­muter elec­tric car, we’re seeing a main­stream apos­tacy from oil-burning, pollution-exhaling, vehicles.

I am all for having fun in a nice car — cruisin’ around in a sports car for fun, but I really think that the daily com­mute should be much more economical/eco-friendly than it is in our country.  There’s a better way to do things, and our country is obsessed with the wasteful, exces­sive way of living.

Simplify.
