Ok so from what I can tell from internet portfolios you can’t be a real graphic designer without your own custom created typeface, usually either based on the immortal Helvetica or some strange, illegible fat font that looks like 26 squares with a few tiny notches cut out of the sides to somehow create letters that take longer to read than they do to draw. Ok, cliché vis-com student poster font rant over.
So here’s my attempt at a font. I basically tried to cut out the unnecessary parts of the letters while still keeping them legible. It might take some thought to get thru, but not enough to make you stop reading it hopefully.
I may make a version of it with all dotted lines and make it an über-ink-friendly font by taking out all unnecessary use of ink to print it. That was the initial idea. To make a font that isn’t wasteful of time, brain activity, or ink.
Also not sure how to actually turn it into a usable font. It’s just in Illustrator for the moment.
Gotta get on that.
Enjoy. More to come soon.
